Take 2

When the Cerato Forte first arrived onto our shores, we took out the entry level 1.6 EX manual to see just how "bare" Kia could go for its sedan-for-the-masses. This time around, we decided to sample its upmarket 2.0 SX auto version, to see how much was packed into it.

What we like:
pros
Stylish design both in and out
pros
some of the standard features present are only seen in pricier cars. Wait...that’s a Kia?
What we dislike:
cons
Gruff engine
cons
4-speed gearbox could do with an extra ratio
cons
interior still has too much hard plastic – we miss the refinement in the older model.

It's little wonder that this car is really giving Japanese manufacturers a good run for their money. Cars that belong to this market category rarely look this good and come with so much standard kit - this effort by Kia definitely gives other carmakers something to think about.

There's plenty of style, but we'd really like more refinement for the cabin. It would certainly up not only the wow factor, but the overall value as well...
