Continuing the third body version within the MINI model family, the new MINI Cabrio symbolises the thrill of open air motoring and bears the unmistakable style of the MINI brand. Moving up to an even higher standard, the enhanced unique features of the MINI Cabrio include design, premium quality, handling, performance, efficiency and functionality.

Electrohydraulic operation of the roof including a sliding roof function is standard, and the soft top can be closed even while driving at speeds of up to 30 km/h. Optional Always-Open Timer is another special feature - it determines the time spent travelling with the roof down. Even wider range of paintwork colours, roof colours, rims, upholstery and interior trim provides greater choice in customising the car.

Newly developed electromechanically operated rollover bar behind the rear seats, which will be activated by the car's central safety electronics in the event of a possible rollover, is another innovation. At the same time, this singlepiece safety bar allows optimum visibility to the rear. A further advantage is the option to integrate an exceptionally large through-loading storage option between the luggage and passenger compartments.

The new MINI Cabrio is entering the market in two engine variants - the MINI Cooper Cabrio offers sporting qualities right from the start with its 1.6-litre four-cylinder power unit featuring fully variable valve management for maximum output of 120bhp at 6,000 rpm. The MINI Cooper S Cabrio, on the other hand is more performance-oriented, thanks to its 1.6-litre four-cylinder Twin-Scroll turbocharged engine that delivers 175bhp at 5,500rpm. The MINI Cooper S Cabrio and the MINI Cooper Cabrio come with a six-speed automatic transmission as standard. A six-speed manual gearbox is also available as an option.

The MINI Cooper Cabrio is priced at $127,800, while the MINI Cooper S Cabrio at $147,800. Both prices include COE.
