Lexus Lounge L
Lexus recently presented the updated RX SUV and the GS Hybrid at the ultra chic Lounge L at 22 Dempsey.

Borneo Motors Singapore offered a luxurious experience to more than 750 guests, prospective owners and fans of the Lexus brand during the launch of the marque’s new RX model range and the all new GS Hybrid over the weekend in July. To deliver a luxurious and welcoming experience befitting the brand, Addictions café and its surrounding eateries at 22 Dempsey underwent a Lexus themed makeover, transforming the venue for the weekend into a Lexus branded “Lounge L – The Home of Luxury” for the launch of Lexus’ exciting new automobiles.
This unique lifestyle concept allowed the public to experience the brand’s luxurious premium offerings and renowned customer service and hospitality standards, while being amongst the first in Singapore to come upclose to experience the new RX model range and the GS Hybrid.

“We believe that purchasing a Lexus is more than just purchasing a premium automobile. Over the years, while the brand has been known for its premium and luxurious automobiles, I am pleased to say that Lexus has also created a reputation for its industry-leading customer service and bespoke hospitality standards. The new RX model range and the GS Hybrid are fantastic class leading automobiles delivering the refinement, quality and the driving performance that will exceed the high expectations demanded of a Lexus. With the Lounge L – The Home of Luxury, we are also able to deliver a launch experience that will allow us to treat our guests with a unique and memorable lifestyle experience. Through this event venue, we are able to showcase to a wider audience our world-class bespoke hospitality service and ultimate experience that the Lexus brand sets to achieve” said Mr. Klaus Redomske, Marketing Director, Borneo Motors (Singapore) Pte Ltd

To mark the launch of both the new RX model range and the all new GS Hybrid, Borneo Motors pulled out all stops in transforming Addictions café and its surrounding eateries at 22 Dempsey into an exclusive and chic lounge-inspired setting for guests and prospective owners to experience the new Lexus cars in the venue’s exquisite surroundings. Taking centrepiece in the design works was the new Lexus RX F SPORT which was given a prominent display in the middle of 22 Dempsey’s eye-catching water feature.
Guests who visited Lounge L were first treated to a sumptuous meal on the marque, with specially crafted food menus, each meal complimenting the time of the visitor’s arrival, be it for breakfast, lunch, tea, dinner or supper. After the culinary experience, guests were ushered to the display area to get up-close to touch, feel and experience the new RX model range and the GS Hybrid, while enjoying a cup of Australia’s Best Coffee from Boomerang, Lexus’ bistro partner for the event.
For guests wanting to find out more about the cars, Lexus product experts were on standby to answer any questions that the visitors might have and to offer assistance on the unique and salient points about the various models in the new RX model range and the GS Hybrid. To round off the lifestyle experience, test-drive opportunities were also available for guests who wanted to test and feel for themselves the industry leading luxurious touches, premium finishing and unmatched driving performance of the new Lexus RX model range and the environmentally friendly GS Hybrid.

The new face-lifted RX model range incorporates the brand’s signature spindle grille and Lexus’ unique Lfinesse design philosophy, providing a bolder and more exquisite frontal design for the new RX, translating into a powerful and imposing road presence.

The new RX model range is currently available in a total of eight different variants under the RX 270, RX 350 and the RX Hybrid model configurations. The new RX model range sees the introduction of the RX F SPORT, for customers seeking a sportier and more evocative drive. The RX F SPORT comes with added styling cues and a bespoke exterior and interior design to provide a more aggressive stance. Driving dynamics have also been sharpened to invoke an exhilarating driving performance and a sportier drive. Customers looking for an environmentally friendly drive can choose the RX Hybrid variants, which are equipped with the World’s most advanced Hybrid Drive System enabling the RX Hybrid to raise the benchmark in its class with optimal fuel efficiency and low carbon emissions. New LED headlamps which are more power-saving are introduced for the new RX Hybrid. Driving performance in the RX Hybrid has also been improved with the addition of a SPORT mode that supplements the full hybrid powertrain’s existing NORMAL, ECO and EV (Electric Vehicle) drive modes. The SPORT mode further improves the performance and dynamic ability of the RX Hybrid. The EV mode in the RX Hybrid which allows for battery motor-only driving can now be activated with a separate switch for enhanced convenience. Alternatively, it can be automatically operated from start-up and speeds of less than 50km/h. This technology delivers a significant reduction to the RX’s overall fuel consumption (6.3l/100 km) and carbon emissions (149 g/km), making it one of the most environmentally friendly vehicles in its class.

The GS Hybrid is a further extension of the successful GS model range that was launched to critical acclaim in Singapore earlier in the year. Built to exceed expectations for its driver and passengers, the new GS Hybrid comes equipped with the second generation Lexus Hybrid Drive system – an advanced petrol-electric hybrid drive-train, which enables the GS Hybrid to deliver an unprecedented reduction in fuel consumption and emissions, while enabling an exhilarating driving performance. The new Hybrid Drive system also provides the car with significant improvements in every area, especially in space, efficiency, ride comfort and driving dynamics.
Delivering a performance output comparable with rivals powered by a V8 engine, the GS Hybrid will complete the century sprint in 5.9 seconds, reaching a maximum speed of 250 km/h. The remarkable performance figures will not come at the expense of the environment with fuel consumption being reduced from its preceding model by over 23% to 6.2l/100 km while CO2 emissions dropped to 145 g/km, one of the lowest in its class. To differentiate the GS Hybrids from its petrol variants, the GS Hybrids will be exclusively equipped with Lexusfirst high-and-low beam LED lamps, designed in a unique three-lamp design. The energy efficient LED lamps provide an improved illumination and beam range, providing drivers with significantly superior visibility. Also exclusive to the GS Hybrid is the world’s first bamboo steering wheel that owners of the GS Hybrid can customise their cars with. This option comes together with bamboo trimmings on the door, dash and console, providing the car with a distinctive, natural look while also boosting the car’s prominent environmental credentials.
The new GS Hybrid’s trunk capacity has also increased up to 482 litres of luggage space, ample luggage space for 4 golf bags. This is a 61% increase over the preceding GS Hybrid model, achieved through clever engineering of packaging the hybrid battery into a stacked format at the rear.
