"This will be the most successful 7 Series" were the first words uttered proudly to members of the international press when the car was unveiled yesterday at 8.30pm local time (2.30am Singapore time).

Top standards and demands newly redefined, the fifth generation BMW flagship was finally introduced by one of the world's most successful manufacturer of premium cars. It's the result of innovation in design and supreme engineering on the drivetrain, chassis, safety systems, driver assistance and most importantly, comfort. And at the same time, the new interior promises to provide an impressive driving experience for both driver and passengers.

The engines as well as suspension technology of the new BMW 7 Series are quite unique in the luxury saloon segment. Two petrol engines with Twin Turbo technology and High Precision Injection - a 407bhp V8 in the top of the range 750i, and a 326bhp straight-six in the 740i - will be made available for the Singapore market. Both power units offer a high standard of efficiency in ther respective class and complies fully with the EU 5 emission standard.

The new 7 Series also comes standard with Dynamic Damper Control including Dynamic Driving Control at the touch of a button on the centre console. It also comes with Integral Active Steering together with rear axle steering, and well as Dynamic Drive anti-roll stability.

A new generation iDrive also makes its debut. The newly developed Controller with direct selection buttons and a high-resolution 10.2 inch Control Display facilitate intuitive management, control and activation of numerous functions. The new iDrive also offers ideal conditions for unrestricted use of the internet in the car - BMW calls this the BMW ConnectedDrive.

Driver assistance systems worth mentioning are BMW's new Night Vision with detection of individual persons, a camera-based Speed Limit Indicator, Lane Change Warning and Cruise Control with Stop & Go, active Brake Assistant and a proximity warning function when approaching another vehicle from behind.

Both the regular and long-wheelbase versions - available in both 740i and 750i - comes with the longest wheelbase in their segment, which means the 7 Series has generous space and roominess within the car. Another innovation are the lightweight features of the car - the doors, roof, engine compartment lid, side panels and the engine crankcase are made of aluminuim, enhancing the efficiency and agility of the 7 Series. And through its comprehensive safety concept, it also guarantees maximum occupant safety in all conceivable types of collision.
