With the fall in COE prices in this week’s bidding exercise, you’d expect price cuts from most or all of the distributors this weekend. Here are the cars that ‘suffered’ from the biggest price drops after the last round of COE bidding:

Suzuki Swift Sport -$3,600 to $8,000
The automatic version of this junior hot hatch might not offer very strong performance but a whopping $8,000 price cut ought to entice anyone that is looking for a fun car to zip around in. The more appealing five-speed manual will also be more affordable to buy this weekend – it costs $3,600 less.

Nissan 370Z/GT-R -$5,000
Good news for fans of Nissan sports cars – the GT-R and the 370Z have their prices slashed by $5,000. The 370Z offers fun rear wheel drive handling for under $160k and only the more expensive Porsche Cayman is better in the junior sports car category. Obviously, the GT-R needs no introduction.

Subaru Impreza 1.5R five-door -$3,501
The entry-level Impreza hatchback sees a significant $3,501 lower sticker price this week. The Subaru offers composed and surefooted road manners thanks to all-wheel drive and its well-honed chassis. The engine is short on poke but it is silky smooth and makes a nice off-beat noise.

Ford Mondeo 2.3 Wagon -$3,000
The estate version of the Mondeo is often ignored here but it is a really popular seller in overseas markets like the UK. Its biggest virtue is its gargantuan boot – you could smuggle some illegal immigrants in there. The $3,501 price reduction for the Mondeo Wagon ought to be a motivation for those looking at a practical estate to check it out.

Toyota Corolla Altis 1.8 -$3,000The Altis needs no introduction at all. The COE price for Cat B might have dropped by just over a grand but Borneo Motors has slashed the price if the 1.8-litre Altis by $3,000. The aAltis 1.8 not only offers more performance but also lots more standard equipment like HID headlamps and more.
