Present today in more than 150 countries, Peugeot is a contemporary car manufacturer with solid foundations for future development.

With 50 million vehicles produced - the annual equivalent of the current global car market - Peugeot is above all a family owned firm, with a passion for motor cars. Since 1889, Peugeot has developed more than 160 models - from the Type 1 to the Type 190 S of 1929, and then 34 more ranges, from the 201 to the 308.

These 50 million cars produced by Peugeot underline the strength the manufacturer draws from its history - a history that has seen the marque rise to numerous technological, sporting and commercial challenges spanning two centuries. It is also a history that has accelerated over time - the one millionth Peugeot was produced in 1952, and the ten millionth in 1976.

As a result of Peugeot’s formidable growth, events have gathered pace since - the twenty millionth mark was achieved in 1988 and then the forty millionth mark barely six years ago.

Peugeot continues to grow internationally and is developing its presence on priority markets such as South America, China, Central Europe and Russia.
