Audi's latest model, the A4 TDI concept e, uses Audi's 2.0 TDI engine to produce 120hp and 290Nm of torque, but at the same time only uses just 3.99 l/km.
To ensure this type of fuel efficiency, Audi included tyres with less rolling resistance, an economy training programme that can be accessed by the driver, and a brake power recuperation system that recovers power during braking and stores it in a battery.
A start-stop system also shuts off the engine when the car comes to a halt. When combined, all of these systems should ensure that the car will be able to run longer than it normally does.
