The Ingolstadt premium carmaker also garnered an 11.8% luxury market share in Singapore in the first quarter of 2009, registering a quarter-on-quarter increase of 2.1%.

Year-to-date figures indicate Audi Singapore has fared better than its key competitors, who have felt the impact of the economic slowdown.

"The appeal of Audi continues to strengthen in Singapore and success breeds success," said Reinhold Carl, Managing Director, Audi Singapore. "We have the youngest, sportiest range of models among any of the prestige car brands – and our model line-up continues to grow. The recent introduction of the new Audi Q5 has already proven popular among premium SUV drivers in Singapore."

The Audi Q5, launched at the end of April amidst great anticipation, continues to solidify Audi’s position as the fastest growing prestige car brand.

Sales momentum continues to be bolstered by the recent launch of the new Audi A3 Cabriolet at the Audi Fashion Festival; and the model line up continues to grow in 2009 with additions of the A5 Cabriolet and R8 5.2 FSI quattro.

"We have a clear approach to our strategy in this tough economic climate and are moving the right direction. It is a difficult sales environment for everyone but I’m pleased Audi Singapore has managed to break yet another sales record," added Carl.
