BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Revealed
BMW together with renowned Italian design firm Pininfarina teamed up to debut their latest creation, the BMW Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupé. It was revealed at the Villa d'Este Concours d'Elegance 2013. This is the first ever collaboration between the two companies and BMW claims it is a one-off and that it represents the exclusivity of a luxurious BMW Coupé seen through the eyes of Pininfarina.
The Gran Lusso Coupé has elegant, elongated and striking details. With the front nose having an oversized version of the BMW's twin kidney grille, finished in matte sheen aluminum and high-gloss black trim. The headlights are narrowed highlighting the car's width. It features an elegantly slanting roofline and gentle creases originating at the side vents which distinguish the flanks, with full-length tail lights.
The cabin is similar to the 7-series sedan, but with modifications such as the kauri wood touches. The wood is said to be from New-Zealand and BMW claims it is over 48,000 years old which adds exclusivity to the Gran Coupé. As for the engine, BMW says that the Gran Lusso Coupé is powered by a V12 engine. However precise details on the engine are not yet available.
