Chevrolet Unveils the fuel efficient 2014 Malibu

Chevrolet has unveiled the 2014 Malibu which is a roomier, more refined and efficient execution of its mid-sized sedan.  With and updated styling, revised interior, new 2.5 liter standard engine and suspension enhancements, it will go on sale later this year. The new and enhanced features are a revised front-end appearance, roomier rear seat with 1.25 inches more knee room, a redesigned center console and a new engine.  The new engine has a variable valve lift control and start/stop technology that helps deliver fuel economy.  The Malibu is engineered for a greater feeling of power on demand with 295lb-ft of torque. The front end appearance is influenced by the all new Chevrolet Impala.  The front fascia has a new outstanding lower grille and the hood extends down and over the leading edge of a narrower upper grille.  The grille openings are wider and accented with chrome.

The interior has redesigned seats which contribute to greater seat space in the rear and greater comfort. The front seats are shaped to improve rear seat room. New cushion sculpturing and revised cushion material allow passengers to sit deeper in the rear seats. The Chevrolet Malibu's center console has a longer armrest for greater comfort, along with a pair of cup holders and storage for two cell phones.

With an all new Ecotec 2.5 liter Intake valve Lift Control DOHC four-cylinder engine with direct injection, it enhances efficiency and helps lower emissions while enhancing low-rpm torque for greater power at lower speeds. The new star/stop technology shuts down the 2.5liter engine to save fuel when the Malibu stops momentarily, such as stop lights which contributes to an approximate 5% increase in city fuel economy. With 196hp and 186lb-ft of torque, the Malibu gets an enhanced feeling of performance while delivering greater refinement.

The Malibu comes with 10 standard air bags and an available rearview camera system. Take a closer look at the 2014 Chevrolet Malibu in our gallery.
