Cat A (for cars inder 1600cc) COE premiums fell $4,001 to close at $30,000 after the second tender exercise for April closed today. Big car COE (Cat B) prices went down by more than $5,000 dollars to end at $40,001 while the Open Cat COEs dropped by as much as $5,997 to end at $43,003.

Car distributors have seen slow sales in the weeks and days before this tender - some mass market brands have seen just a handful of orders over weekends.

This latest price drop should encourage car buyers to go out to the showrooms in droves once again as it always does when COE prices fall.
