To improve the overall connectivity at Marina Bay, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) will be opening a new road network on 25 April 2010 (Sunday), from 3pm onwards.

The new 1.3km long dual-three lane road link comprises a vehicular bridge across Marina Bay as well as the newly constructed road, Bayfront Avenue, which runs through the soon-to-be opened Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort. This new road will provide a direct connection between Temasek Avenue and Central Boulevard as well as Marina Boulevard.

The opening of this new road network will provide road access to the upcoming developments in the Marina Bay area, such as the Marina Bay Sands Integrated Resort (MBSIR) and the Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC).

As part of overall efforts to improve accessibility to the Marina Bay area, the public bus operators will also be rerouting eight public bus services to ply through the new road network.

As the new road network will provide another route option for motorists entering the CBD, the ERP gantry along Bayfront Avenue towards Temasek Avenue will be implemented from 26 April 2010, Monday onwards to close off the existing Bugis-Marina Centre ERP cordon. Operating as part of the Bugis-Marina Centre ERP cordon, the gantry will follow the prevailing ERP rates and operating hours.
