Its sounds so simple, I’m sure it will tempt quite a few people. Saab USA is offering a new Saab to any Saab owner that can prove he has driven 1 million miles and is the original owner of the car. This offer was inspired by a man that turned up in his ’89 Saab 900 with a million miles on its odometer!
Wisconsin resident and Saab owner Peter Gilbert showed up at the North American Saab Owners Convention in his Edwardian Grey Saab 900 Cabrio, and it so impressed Jay Spenham, Saab USA’s GM, that this innovative marketing scheme was developed.
“Saabs are made for people who love to drive, as proven by the many high-mileage examples in the Saab owners’ community”, Spenchian said. Mr. Gilbert’s 900 still has its original engine and turbocharger, and to kick off this new marketing scheme, he received a brand new 9-5 Aero.
This offer is only open to Saab’s USA customers that can prove that they are the original owners of the car, and it must be in running condition. The odometer will be checked for tampering, and the car must be registered only in the USA.
Now, if just the local Saab dealer would offer a similar scheme . . .
