Car owners in Singapore have to contend with new car purchases pegged to COE prices, unlike anywhere else in the world where buying a car is way less complicated administratively. But if you have the means to buy a new car here, you might be in for a pleasant surprise if you’re shopping for a new Lexus ES 300h or NX 350h. Lexus Singapore aims to alleviate the “stress” by offering customers the flexibility to choose when to exercise their bid, and enjoy a complimentary Lexus courtesy car while waiting for it.

Under this scheme, customers are given additional time to make an informed decision before exercising their right to go for COE bidding and register their Lexus by 31 December 2022. If COE price falls below the reserved price, the buyer will receive a dollar-for-dollar rebate. However, if the COE price goes above the reserved price, the buyer can “gain” a COE subsidy of up to S$3,000.

Customers will also receive a complimentary Lexus courtesy car upon trade-in and hand over of their existing car, alleviating their concerns about having to keep their current vehicle for months while waiting for their new Lexus.

In need of more convincing? Lexus has indicated that customers enrolled for this programme are eligible for other ongoing promotions. But with Lexus dangling the courtesy car carrot in front of prospective buyers, we reckon that could be an incentive even fence sitters find tough to refuse.
