F1: Hamilton draws flak for spraying champagne

Champagne spraying may be a tradition in any form of motorsport, but many netizens believe that only the drivers and the fans should be sprayed with said beverage. The netizens have stuck by their beliefs, and have openly talked about what they perceive as disdainful behaviour from a certain Chinese Grand Prix winner. The whole incident started when Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton decided to soak a hostess in champagne. Whilst some may see it as an outpouring of emotion, his actions certainly didn’t settle well with anti-sexism campaigners, who believed that Hamilton added to motor racing’s obsession with sexualising women. This is not the first time Hamilton has targeted the grid girds/female assistants; he first did it after winning the Spanish Grand Prix, before repeating his actions at the Austrian GP after finishing 2nd.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
