FE: Official testing for season 2 kicks off
The first season of Formula E finished on a high with the spectacular Visa London ePrix, which saw Nelson Piquet finish as champion. 6 weeks after the inaugural season, testing has begun for season two at Donington Park. Unlike in season one, Formula E is no longer a spec series, with the FIA opening drivetrain development to various manufacturers. The new spec cars saw Sebastien Buemi of Renault e.dams, going quickest during a day that was interrupted by a brief rain shower in the mid-afternoon. That said, not all teams ran their cars. The Andretti team, looking resplendent in its new Amlin livery, and Trulli both parked up, even though they are expected to run in the next day’s sessions.
