Green News: Mitsubishi to Feature EV in Denmark
Mitsubishi Motors Corporation (MMC) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Danish government regarding the popularization of its i-MiEV new-generation electric vehicle (EV) in Denmark

Under the MoU, the Danish government will consider introducing i-MiEVs into its fleet in or after 2011, conducting EV promotional activities and implementing EV infrastructure. The Danish government, in order to reduce CO2 emissions in its country, is proactively implementing environmental conservation initiatives as national policy - a part of which are EV-related tax incentives - and approached MMC for cooperation in the popularization of EVs in Denmark.
Denmark’s Ambassador to Japan, Mr. Franz-Michael Skjold Mellbin welcomed the agreement by stating “I am very pleased to say that that today the Danish government signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Mitsubishi Motors Corporation regarding electric vehicles in Denmark. Japan and Denmark are world leaders in environmental technology, and with this cooperation regarding electric vehicles, I believe both countries can contribute not only to each other’s industries, but also to the global environment. I am hoping that new solutions will be borne from the fusion of Mitsubishi Motors Corporation’s technological capabilities in electric vehicles and Denmark’s technological innovation.”
In addition, MMC President Osamu Masuko commented “I am very happy that Denmark, one of the world’s environmentally-leading countries, has chosen Mitsubishi Motors to be a partner in the popularization of electric vehicles. I believe we will be able to contribute to the realization of a better environmental society for Denmark.”
