To prove that Nissan cheated, Porsche acquired a U.S.-spec GTR and tested it against their own 911 Turbo and GT2. The result, announced Porsche, was that Nissan's mighty GTR was beaten by the Teutonic pair. According to their reports, the GTR posted lap times that were a massive 25 seconds slower than what Nissan claimed.

August Achleitner, the man in charge of the 911 program, claims that Nissan used different tires. There is footage of the GT-R lapping the circuit at high speed, but it was taken from inside the car where the tires cannot be seen.

Considering the fact that Nissan issued a press release commemorating the car's fast-lap, this is something that they will not be taking lying down.
