Lexus IS-F dances around Laguna Seca (VIDEO)
With BMW's M3 and the Audi RS4 set in its sights, Lexus aims to penetrate this market segment of performance cars with its latest IS-F. It was recently seen making hot laps around the Laguna Seca Raceway in America.

Housing a 5.0-litre V8 unit, Lexus claims that it delivers about 475 Nm of torque and "more than 400 horsepower". With a 0 to 100 km/h sprint time of "below 4.9 seconds" and a direct-sport shift transmission, capable of upshifts "within a tenth of a second", the Japanese brand looks like it will have something substantial to scare the German duo.
Lexus demonstrates how capable the car is of going round the bends, which are more of its power-sliding capabilities than flat-out cornering.
The ferocious V8 engine is also clearly audible, unlike what you would get from most other Lexus cars.
Interested buyers will have to wait until at least the later half of next year before being able to get their hands on one.
Something interesting to note is how flat the car remains through the corners, with very minimal body roll; all Lexus says about it on its website is "All the while, a specially tuned suspension delivers impeccable road feel."
Hmm... curious.
