Local News: Audi Singapore records strong growth in 2010

Audi Singapore sold 1,875 cars last year, compared to 1,471 cars sold in 2009. The impressive 27.5% growth is attributed to Audi’s robust investment in brand-building initiatives and its strong product strategy bodes well for sales performance in the 2011. The new Audi A8 for example, has been very well- received, collecting some 69 orders since its launch in December last year.

Audi’s record sales performance in Singapore is consistent with the organisation’s growth worldwide. In 2010, AUDI AG sold around 1,092,400 cars, up 15% from 2009, exceeding the Company’s annual sales forecasts, and recording its best-ever year in terms of sales.

On the outlook for the automotive industry in Singapore this year, Reinhold Carl, Managing Director of Audi Singapore, says: “It will be challenging as the prices of cars will surely rise. Consumers willing to pay top dollar will be even more discerning and demanding in their choices. However, Audi is well-positioned to overcome this and successfully cater to the premium segment with our growing and diverse model line-up this year. We will be introducing nine new models to Singapore this year, including the Audi A1, the Audi A7 Sportback and the Audi RS 3.”

“We’re also not letting up on our efforts to deliver greater customer satisfaction. We have expanded our aftersales facilities last year and will continue to invest further in enhancing the Audi ownership experience with more training for our backend staff. There will also be more exciting talk-of-the-town events to look forward to, including the new Audi Classics in collaboration with the Singapore Repertory Theatre and the upcoming Audi Fashion Festival – now a key annual highlight on Singapore’s cultural calendar.”
