Volkswagen Group Singapore has not raised prices on the majority of its car models. This is despite the Land Transport Authority’s recent announcement of a COE quota cut from April 2010, which led to price spikes across much of the car industry.

Of Volkswagen’s 20-strong model range, only the Polo 1.4 and Scirocco
1.4 TSI cost more than before. What’s more, the line-up will soon be expanded to 22 cars with the upcoming launch of the highly anticipated Golf R on 27 March 2010.

This range-topping Golf is powered by a 256bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine mated to a 6-speed DSG transmission, propelling it from 0-100km/h in just 5.7 seconds. Standard equipment includes LED daytime running lights and tail lamps, 18-inch ‘Talladega’ alloy wheels and an iPod/iPhone compatible MEDIA-IN mobile device interface.

The list price for the 3-door model is $156,300 with COE, while the 5-door is going for $159,800 with COE.
