Dubbed 'The Beetle', Volkswagen launches modern reinterpretation one of motoring's most iconic models
The original Volkswagen Beetle can be considered one of motoring's most iconic models and following its 11 July preview, The Beetle has finally arrived.
The third generation Beetle, definitively known as 'The Beetle', will be offered here in Singapore with Volkswagen's award winning 1.2-litre TSI engine.
Tuned for 105bhp with 175Nm of torque, the turbocharged Beetle comes with a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox as standard. The 0-100km/h sprint is achieved in a respectable 10.9seconds before topping out at a 180km/h maximum.
Benefiting from Volkswagen's philosophy for having smaller, ore efficient engines, The Beetle's fuel sipping nature sees it return an excellent 16.9km/L. CO2 emissions stands at 137g/km.
At press time, prices for the Beetle 1.2 TSI starts from $132,300 with COE.
