Local News: VW launches its third new model in a month - the Golf Cabriolet
Volkswagen Centre Singapore will launch the new Golf Cabriolet this weekend.
The new topless Golf rekindles the character and spirit of the Mk 1 and Mk 3 Golf Cabriolet. The new generation Golf Cabriolet features elegant looks on the outside and to keep prices affordable and things simpler, the new model features an electrically retractable cloth hood which stows away behind the rear seats in a matter of seconds with the press of a button. The Cabrio shares the same high quality dashboard and switchgear with the Golf.
Powering the new topless Golf is the familiar 1.4 TSI twin charged lump from the Golf Sport among other models. The 160bhp motor sends its power to the front wheels via the commonly used seven-speed DSG box. the Golf Cabriolet sits beneath the Eos in the Volkswagen convertible line-up and with a launch price of a mouth watering $138,800, the topless Golf costs just a tad more than the five-door Golf Sport.
