Marie Sjödin Enström appointed as the new managing director of Scania Southeast Asia
Scania CV AB has appointed the experienced Marie Sjödin Enström as the new Managing Director of Scania Southeast Asia, with effect from July 1st this year. She will be in charge of leading a highly dedicated team that covers Scania’s captive markets of Singapore and Malaysia as well as the non-captive export markets of Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. A Swede, Ms. Enström began her career with Scania in 1984. Her last position was as Managing Director of Scania Assistance at Scania CV AB, Sweden, where she was the global head and was responsible for eight centers in Europe and Latin America.
Prior to that, she was Chief Financial Officer at Scania Australia where she was responsible for all financial activities, corporate governance, insurance and control in the company, as well as being deputy to the Managing Director.
Her experience in various key positions in various countries will add to the current experienced Scania Southeast Asia team. The team continues to cover wholly-owned markets of Malaysia and Singapore; and also presides over independent dealers and distributors in the Export markets like Myanmar, Philippines, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. They will continue to uphold the Scania Core Values – customer first, respect for the individual and quality – and continue to improve Scania products and services for our customers.
“I am looking forward to lead Scania Southeast Asia into maintaining its leading position in the truck and bus market of this robust and developing region. I am positive that with the well-proven Scania total solutions business model, we will continue to optimize our products and services for our customers’ best profitability,” said Ms. Enström.
She added: “Scania Singapore had a record year in 2014, becoming the leading choice of heavy truck operators. We hope to continue to work with our customers for many more years to come – providing sustainable solutions to them to achieve their best profitability.”
Ms. Enström arrives at Scania in this region at an exciting time. Customers in Singapore can look forward to the new satellite workshop in Benoi, to improve services network coverage and support, and a new and improved Scania Assistance Singapore number and system to track and follow-up on the status of customer cases from start to completion, keeping customers informed throughout the entire process so that they can best manage their fleet.
To elevate the status of drivers in Singapore and Malaysia in the area of safe and fuel-efficient driving, the bi-annual Scania Driver Competition will also continue later this year.
