Mercedes-Benz cars post record sales in first quarter of 2008
In the first quarter of 2008, Mercedes-Benz sold more vehicles than during the first quarter of the previous year. With 1,191 units, Mercedes-Benz posted a record sale in the first three months of this year as compared to 928 units in 2007.

The new C-Class continues to be a success story after its launch in mid-2007 here in Singapore. Record demand for the C-Class pushed sales up to 460 units in the first three months of 2008. At the same time, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and S-Class continues to be in high demand by Singapore customers.
Dr Rainer Thiel, President & CEO Daimler South East Asia said, “We are very pleased to see that our customers’ demand for Mercedes-Benz vehicles – specifically for the C-Class – has been steadily high since last year and continued in the first quarter of 2008. The C-Class has appealed to a new customer segment and has broadened our customer base. This is an indication that we have the right products and right services in place, and that our customers appreciate our values and share the passion for the Mercedes-Benz brand."
The Mercedes-Benz Cars division posted sales growth in all regions around the globe in the first quarter. A total of 318,700 customers worldwide opted for a model from one of the four brands - Mercedes-Benz, AMG, smart and Maybach.
