Michellin Pilot Super Sports Certified For Ferrari FF

After the success of past partnerships, the Italian constructor has once again chosen Michelin as one of the tyre manufacturers to equip its new Ferrari FF four-wheel drive car. It’s the Michelin Pilot Super Sport which will be fitted as original equipment on the Ferrari FF. Marketed since the beginning of 2011, it is the world’s fastest ever commercial tyre on track[1]. The mission entrusted to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport is simple: enhance driving pleasure while ensuring maximum safety, even in extreme conditions. This supreme combination of emotion and safety was a decisive factor in the development phases between Michelin and Ferrari.

The potential of the Michelin Pilot Super Sport, designed for highly demanding technological advances enabled the tyre manufacturer to obtain 13 consecutive victories at the Le Mans 24 Hours. The resulting experience was transferred to the Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyre for the benefit of the motorist looking for enhanced driving sensations.

To improve road holding and braking, and taking safety one step further even in the most extreme conditions, while still ensuring very high mileage, Michelin combined three technologies, two of which are directly derived from the motorsport tyres used at the Le Mans 24 Hours. These three technologies are the Twaron® belt, the Bi-Compound tread and the Variable Contact Patch 2.0[2].

The tyre sizes fitted to the Ferrari FF are 245/35 ZR 20 on the front and 295/45 ZR 20 on the rear.
