During the past summer months, BMW announced a plan to build just 500 electrically powered Mini Coopers. 490 of these cars will be sold in California.
The vehicles' bodies will be assembled at Mini's factory in Oxford before being shipped to Germany. BMW will then fit them with their electric powertrains.
If this limited-edition Mini Cooper is a success, full production may be a possibility.
