Motul Levels Up On Hybrid Tech With New-Gen Lubricants
NGEN range supports modern hybrid engines while reducing environmental impact.

Motul is doubling down on hybrids, and it’s not just about performance. It’s about efficiency and sustainability too. Its new NGEN range of lubricants is developed specifically for modern hybrid engines, aiming to improve both lubrication and overall fuel system performance while reducing environmental impact.

The range includes engine oils like NGEN Hybrid 0W-16 and 0W-20, alongside NGEN MATIC ATF VI transmission fluid and E DOT 5.1 brake fluid. It’s now expanded with two new additions: the ultra-low viscosity NGEN Hybrid 0W-8 engine oil and an E-Fuel System Care solution designed to support cleaner fuel delivery.
Backing this up is a 77-day real-world study conducted by the Centre for Environmental Sustainability at Ngee Ann Polytechnic. The study found that lower-viscosity engine oils can improve fuel efficiency, with savings of up to 109 litres per 10,000km. Importantly, these thinner oils were still able to maintain effective engine protection and comparable wear levels versus higher-viscosity alternatives.
By reducing internal friction and supporting cleaner combustion, these advanced formulations help limit engine wear, reduce deposit build-up, and lower fuel consumption and emissions over time. Over a typical ownership period, that could translate into tangible cost savings, along with better long-term engine health and improved environmental performance.
