New Audi RS3 rolls to town
Audi's new RS3 Sportback has been launched here in Singapore. Promising to be the most powerful compact car in the premium segment, the powerful 5 cylinder engine will deliver a 367 hp and 465 Nm of torque.
“There is a long tradition of five-cylinder engines at Audi,” says Prof. Dr. Ulrich Hackenberg, Board Member for Technical Development at AUDI AG. “In the 80s, they turned Audi into a sporty brand, both in motor sports and in production. The new Audi RS 3 Sportback features the latest generation of our 2.5 liter, five-cylinder engine – the most powerful production engine in the modular transverse matrix.”
The multiple award-winning 2.5 TFSI sends the RS3 Sportback from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds, and top speed can be increased to 280 km/h upon request. Mated to Audi's seven-speed S tronic gearbox, shift times have been improved over the previous model.
The car's quattro system features torque vectoring based on intelligent software and is designed for maximum driving enjoyment. Lowered 25mm compared to the standard A3, the RS3 features pivot bearings of the front axle and RS-specific sport suspension. Optional Audi magnetic ride adaptive damper control can also be specified.
For the first time, you can get carbon ceramic brakes in the RS3, which also sets a new benchmark in the segment.
The new top model of the A3 family is now available for order in Singapore at S$297,800 including COE and CEVS.
