Designed and developed in Europe to meet the demands and expectations of customers around the world, it is the first major product of Ford's global product development team. Its stylish and dynamic flair combined with all the traditional Ford small car strengths to create a confident, contemporary introduction to the next chapter of the Fiesta success story.
Since the very first Fiesta was launched in 1976, over 12 million have been sold, with over 400,000 customers in 2007, proving the enduring popularity of the model.
With the combination of dynamic new "kinetic design" exterior and exciting interior styling, the new model makes major strides in workmanship, quality in materials and product choice while continuing the Fiesta's traditional strengths of practicality, driving capabilities and safety.

- [B]Retains its predecessors compact size, whilst being about 40kg lighter.[/B] Tough, safe and with better fuel efficiency due to advanced body construction technologies, such as the use of high strength steel. The new Fiesta is built in Germany by an efficient and dedicated workforce.
- [B]Ford Intelligent Protection System.[/B] Includes Anti-lock braking system, and Electronic brake force distribution system. The new Ford Fiesta has also earned a 5-star EuroNCAP safety rating.
- [B]Detailed enhancements to acclaimed driving character include Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) and reduced road, wind and power train noise.[/B] The EPAS is a sophisticated steering system that makes city driving and parking effortless, while reducing assistance at higher speeds, enabling the driver to enjoy greater control.
- [B]New technology highlights[/B] which include Ford's Easy Fuel Capless System. With its unique safeguard, Ford Easy Fuel ensures that the Fiesta's owner doesn't accidentally fill up with the wrong fuel.
- [B]Futuristic interior with integrated Human Machine Interface center stack[/B], styled like the latest mobile phone for easy engagement. The system also includes Ipod connectivity. The Fiesta's interiors have also been allergy tested and are approved by both the German TUV organization and the British Allergy Foundation.
- [B]Ford Durashift Transmission[/B]. Ford's advanced automatic gearbox provides the option of an auto or manual mode. Together with the Fiesta's 1.4 liter, 95 hp Duratec Euro IV petrol engine, the Fiesta promises a refined and responsive drive at all times.
