New Ford Focus Announced

Ford has announced a new Focus featuring a major exterior and interior design and technical overhaul. The new Focus is being presented as a demonstration of Ford's commitment to the growing small cars market.

The 2008 Focus boasts a completely redesigned cabin which is designed to compliment the new exterior cues including the use of a silver metallic finishing on the dashboard and center console, available ambient interior lighting and available leather seating with contrast stitching — designed to give the car a more modern, contemporary feel

Also boasting FordSync availability, the new Focus model is the latest in Ford's attempts to create a "second home on wheels" environment. Newly refined suspension tuning and chassis refinements also show Ford's new approach described as a dynamic driving experience. Improved sealing and sound deadening materials are also used in the new model to enhance audio performance creating a more comfortable experience.

The 2008 Focus offers a 2.0-liter, Duratec 20 dual-overhead-cam, inline four-cylinder engine delivering an estimated 136 hp. The new engine also offers improved air intake system, cooling and exhaust system are designed to improve the smoothness, efficiency, and response of the powertrain. Galllery after the jump…
