CarTimes Capital Pte. Ltd. (CTCA), the financing arm of CarTimes Group, is stepping in with some quick relief for private hire drivers in Singapore - rolling out a S$200 cash payout via PayNow for eligible PHV drivers within its existing customer base.

Dubbed the “CarTimes Relief for PHV Drivers Program”, the move comes as surging global fuel prices, driven by escalating tensions in the Middle East, continue to eat into drivers’ take-home earnings.

The programme follows closely on the heels of a newly formalised financing partnership between CARSOME, CarTimes and Japan’s JACCS Co., Ltd., inked on 7 April. The collaboration marks JACCS’ sixth expansion into ASEAN and builds on its recent 49% stake in CTCA. More than just a strategic alliance, this relief effort signals an intent to turn that partnership into immediate, tangible support on the ground.

Crucially, the payout is designed to complement government assistance. It runs alongside the Singapore Government’s own S$200 relief announced the same day for platform workers, PHV drivers and taxi drivers. In effect, CTCA is layering on additional support, helping its drivers better weather rising operating costs.

Fuel costs - the biggest daily expense for most PHV drivers - have jumped sharply in recent weeks, putting pressure on earnings, especially since drivers don’t have employer-backed buffers to fall back on.

CarTimes’ response is straightforward: a S$200 PayNow payout for eligible drivers, on top of the Government’s own S$200 relief announced on 7 April 2026. Drivers just need to apply via an online form, and those approved will be guided through the payout process.
