Profits up 200 million for Daimler

Daimler AG posted a profit of €4 billion for the year ended December 2007.

Previously the company had made €3.8 billion in 2006, a gain of €200 million profit. Total revenue for 2007 was €99.4 billion from the collective sales of 2.1 million vehicles worldwide.

The group’s Mercedes-Benz Cars division sold 1,180,100 cars branded Mercedes-Benz, Maybach, AMG and McLaren alone. Smart division contributed 103,100 sales to the overall division.

The company is looking forward to another strong year in 2008, even though world markets appear to have taken a turn for the worse during the first quarter of the year.
