Range Rover Sport Goes Electric - 550 PS And 609 km Range
The first fully electric Range Rover Sport combines V8-rivalling performance, advanced chassis technology and 800V fast charging.

Range Rover has officially opened order books for the first fully electric Range Rover Sport, bringing battery-electric propulsion to its performance SUV for the first time. With 550 PS, 850 Nm of torque and a claimed WLTP range of up to 609 km, the newcomer promises to retain the familiar Sport character, albeit without a combustion engine.
Built on JLR's MLA-Flex architecture, the Range Rover Sport Electric features two 260 kW electric motors, an 118.5 kWh lithium-ion battery and an 800 V electrical system. With Dynamic Launch Mode engaged, it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 4.3 seconds, matching the performance of the V8-powered Range Rover Sport P540.
Interestingly, Range Rover has also placed considerable emphasis on handling. Compared to the plug-in hybrid Sport, the electric model benefits from a 61 percent stiffer body structure, and a centre of gravity that sits 73 mm lower.
Its chassis incorporates Dynamic Air Suspension, electronic Active Roll Control, twin-valve dampers and Adaptive Dynamics, the latter monitoring 100 parameters 500 times per second to manage body movement. Intelligent Traction Management, virtual all-wheel drive and available All-Wheel Steering further contribute to its on-road and off-road capabilities.

“The Range Rover Sport Electric represents an evolution in the dynamic character of Range Rover Sport, with an even greater emphasis on driver engagement and sporting response,” said Matt Becker, Vehicle Engineering Director, Range Rover.
“It feels smaller, more planted and more responsive than you would imagine. All without sacrificing refinement, comfort or breadth of capability.”
To demonstrate its capabilities, Range Rover subjected the electric SUV to a final development challenge at Italy's Carrara marble quarries, where it tackled gradients of up to 45 degrees, tight hairpin bends and surfaces ranging from polished marble to loose marble dust. The exercise concluded a global testing programme that also included Japan's Magarigawa Club circuit.

As for efficiency, the Sport Electric offers a claimed WLTP range of up to 609 km, while Range Rover estimates a real-world range of approximately 536 km. Its 800 V architecture supports DC rapid charging, allowing up to 220 km of range to be replenished in just 10 minutes, or a 10 to 80 percent charge in around 22 minutes under suitable conditions.
Subtle exterior revisions, including an aerodynamically optimised grille and alloy wheels, distinguish the electric variant from its combustion-engined siblings.
Production will take place at JLR's Solihull facility in the UK, alongside the existing petrol, diesel and plug-in hybrid models. The battery is covered by an eight-year or 100,000-mile (approximately 161,000km) warranty.
The Range Rover Sport Electric is available to order in Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and First Edition specifications, with local pricing and availability for Singapore yet to be confirmed.
