SG: CTE closed due to trailer incident

A trailer which broke down along the CTE left another oil spill on local roads on Wednesday. The spill was close to an exit on the CTE, necessitating the closure of Chin Swee tunnel, the Merchant Road entrance and the Havelock Road exit at around 1:00pm. No one was hurt in the incident. Clean up was done, and the tunnel eventually reopened in stages from 6:00pm to about 8:50pm. Upon receiving the call for assistance, the SCDF sent 2 fire engines along with solvents to break down the spilt oil. Several portions of the oil spill cannot be washed off, and the LTA has plans to resurface the affected portion of the road.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
