SG: Drink driver fined and banned from driving
59-year old delivery driver Chng Seow Kiat pleaded guilty to failing to keep a proper lookout and ensuring safety, which resulted in his van hitting Mr. Loo Peck Lay, 61, who happened to cross the road at that instant. The accident, which took place on 30th December last year at the T-junction of Jurong Town Hall Road with Pandan Gardens, caused Loo to lose his life the very next day. Chng has been fined $7,000 and has received a 5 year driving ban. For causing death as a result of a negligent act, Chng could have been jailed for up to two years and/or fined.Pictures used for illustration purposes only.
