SG Motorshow: Alfa Romeo 4C and Refreshed Giulietta Range Introduced
Alfa Romeo launched a slew of new cars at the Singapore Motorshow – their eagerly awaited 4C, and a range of newly-refreshed Giuliettas.
Almost two years after the production 4C made its public debut in February 2013 at the Geneva Motor Show, the 4C is finally available on local shores.
Featuring a chassis composed by a central carbon fibre tub joined to aluminium subframes in front and behind, and an body panels made of a composite material 20% lighter than steel, the whole car weighs in at only just 895kg.
Alfa Romeo mentions that three 4C’s have already found their new owners locally, and if you want to join these lucky owners, one can be yours for $318,800 exclusive of COE.
Also launched at Alfa Romeo’s booth were the Giulietta 1.4 Turbo, 1.4 QV Line, and 1.8 QV.
The Giulietta has been given a refresh, and now comes with slightly refreshed looks on the outside and more equipment and better materials on the inside.
The QV (Quadrifoglio Verde – four leaf clover) denotes that the car is higher-end with sporting pretensions, which is especially the case with the 1.8 QV.
Using the same 240hp engine and 6-speed twin dry clutch transmission as the 4C, the 1.8 QV can do the century sprint in just 6 seconds, and reaches a top speed of 240km/h.
The 1.4-litre QV Line has most of the kit of the QV, but not the engine, instead sharing the same motor as the regular 1.4 Turbocharged Multiair.
The 1.4 Turbo will cost $145,800, the 1.4 QV Line $153,800, and the 1.8 QV $189,800.
