SG: Noise Barriers to be installed in 9 locations

The LTA will install more than 3 km of noise barriers at 9 locations along various MRT tracks across the island. The barriers are expected to reduce railway noise levels by 5 to 10 decibels so residents living near elevated MRT tracks can look forward to an improved living environment. The barriers in Admiralty, Marsiling and Sembawang are currently being installed. All construction works are on schedule to be completed in 2016. The rest of MRT improvement works will be completed in 2019.
