SG: The Range Rover Autobiography LWB storms into town
Land Rover’s impressive stable fine off-roaders is now joined with a new model – the Range Rover Autobiography Long Wheelbase (LWB). Measuring 200mm longer than the already gargantuan standard Range Rover, the extra length translates into an additional 198mm of wheelbase, providing an extra 186mm of extra legroom for the extra-special VIP in the rear seats.
Also on display on the LWB Autobiography demonstrator was the range of options that are available on the whole Range Rover line-up. With the Rear Executive Class seats, the rear bench seats make way for 2 individual seats with massage function and a large centre console, coupled with a brilliant rear seat entertainment system. The ultimate rear seat luxury experience may be further completed with a cooler compartment.
Despite the extra length – and weight – the 5-litre supercharged motor is only 0.4 seconds slower for the century sprint than the standard wheelbase model, while still achieving the same top speed and producing the same carbon dioxide output.
Available from $828,000 onwards (as of 2 December 2014), the Range Rover Autobiography LWB is a luxury indulgence reserved for a lucky few.
