SG: Toyota top of sales chart

Toyota retook the top spot as the leading manufacturer among parallel importers after the 1st half of 2013, with BMW and Mercedes settling for 2nd and 3rd respectively. The last time the Japanese giant took P1 was in 2010. The top PI model is the Toyota Estima, with 101 units registered, ahead of the second placed Toyota Alphard/Vellfire at 78 units. The BMW 5 Series settles for 3rd at 70 units, the Mercedes E Class and C class takes 4th and 5th at 52 and 27 units  respectively. According to The Business Times, the increase may have been influenced by MAS' announcements, with individuals self-importing the luxury models to curb the progressive taxes and loan curbs.
