Singapore GP update: Alonso pips Vettel to pole while Massa falters
Ferrari's Fernando Alonso took a crucial pole position for tomorrow's race tonight.

The Spaniard pipped Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel in tonight's qualifying session at the Marina Bay circuit.Third on the grid for tomorrow's race is McLaren's Lewis Hamilton.Reigning champion Jenson Button was fourth while current championship leader Mark Webber rounded off the top five. There was a surprise in sixth was Williams' Rubens Barrichello.
It was a disastrous session for Alonso's Ferrari team mate Felipe Massa though. He failed to put in any qualifying lap in the session after having trouble with his car on his out lap.
