Targa version for latest 911

Targa version for latest 911

The 911 Targa is back! This is a body style which Porsche created exclusively for the 911 in the mid-60s, and it offered both the strength of a closed car, as well as the openness of a soft-top, and it’s available again on the latest 911. Trends come and go, and until the launch of the new 911 Targa, it seemed that this unique roof-style had finally gone out of style. Well, this is definitely not the case, and the new 911 Targa will be launched here this week. As with the last Targa, the roof is fully transparent, and like a big sunroof, it slides open to open up the cabin to the sky. Interestingly, Porsche is launching the Targa exclusively as the 911 4 and 4S all-wheel drive models. As with the standard 911, the standard Targa is powered by a 325bhp 3.6-litre boxer engine, mated to either a 6-speed manual gearbox, or a 5-speed Tiptronic box. So affluent sun worshippers rejoice – the 911 Targa lets the sun shine in whether the roof is open, or closed.
