UK: Mother of 2 killed in accident on rally.

46 year old Emma Wilkinson was killed when the 1970 Chevrolet she was piloting crashing into an oncoming car on a highway in Tyumen, east of Moscow. Her partner Peter Davies was in the car with her when the accident occurred. The duo was taking part in the Peking to Paris Motor Challenge. The accident, which occurred on day 16 of the 7,500mile rally, was caused by the other driver who fell asleep at the wheel. His car swerved into their lane, killing Miss Wilkinson and the other driver and a 2 year old infant. Mr Davies was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Russian police said they were investigating the circumstances of the accident.
