M to the power of 3

If you’re looking for a compact uber saloon, the only choices now are the M3 and its fierce nemesis, the Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG. Both cars are almost similarly priced, but their characters are hardly the same. The M3 offers sharp, track car like handling with a high revving V8, while the C63 is less frenetic and its V8 is the growly, grunty kind - a bit like a muscle car. So to speak…

And before long, the Lexus IS-F and the next generation Audi RS4 will join the fray. But it’s hard to think that these two models will be as driver focused as the M3 – the BMW will make the obvious choice for the hardcore driving enthusiast.
