Skoda Octavia 2.0 TSI Review: Multi-talented

Skoda introduces a go-fast version of their Octavia Combi to show that you can get both performance and practicality without forking out too much cash. While it may attract the attention of grown-up boyracers, can it change the perception of badge-snobs?

What we dislike:
cons

cons
steering wheel a tad big
cons
heavy weight hinders quick sprint off traffic lights.

For now, the Skoda Octavia VRS Combi can safely be considered a "complete car". Wait - did I just hear those badge-snobs sniggering? Oh well, it's their loss. After all, what you get here is one estate that is designed to do what it's meant to do, with an extra kick just to make it a much exciting experience... Who said driving estates equate to a lifetime of boredom?

Do yourself a favour - skip the predictable SUV, unexciting MPV and plain sedan. Get yourself a fast estate, like this one. It doesn't cost you a bomb, but gives you a premium Teutonic feel. Equipment is equally good too, and it just goes to show "never judge a horse by the cover". Or is that "book"?
