Suzuki knew all along what their customers need and want in an SUV, and always churns out something that’s unpretentious and honest. The same goes to this Vitara – it’s highly packed with so many goodies to give it a touch of luxury, and remains one of the most easy-to-live-with SUV in the market. On top of that, it can handle the occasional run off the beaten path all thanks to the four wheel-drive.

This 2.4-litre variant will be an excellent choice if you find 2,000cc SUVs a tad small and gutless, and want something bigger without having to pay too much to maintain in the long run. With a yearly road tax of $1,674, it should be something that’s pretty easy to swallow if you’ve always wanted the practicality of a wagon, but something macho at the same time.

It has its forgiveable flaws, but think of the current price tag and that Suzuki badge - you won’t go wrong getting one. Especially now…
