Apps Review: Android Car-centric Apps
Back in July I was trying out the Blackberry Apps for drivers and this time around, I am looking at the Android based Smartphones and will look at some of the free apps that will prove useful for drivers on the road.
The long drive up North can be a hazardous undertaking since most Singaporeans are not used to be on the road for more than an hour each time. To prevent accidents from happening, iOnRoad Augmented Driving app uses the on-board phone camera and calculate the distance of the vehicle in front of you and warn you in time to avoid a collision.
The only thing is that the device needed to be installed in landscape orientation mode for it to work and has to be placed upright so that the camera can see what’s in front.
