Porsche’s latest 911 range has just been refreshed at the end of last year and has now officially made its way here.

Dubbed 991.2, the latest 911 series made its way here at Marina Bay Sands Expo and Convention Centre to the welcome of media, enthusiasts and Porsche owners. Six cars made their entrances in a dazzling display of lights, smoke and loud video effects; at least one model in the long line up of 911 sports cars made an appearance.

Present were the 911 Carrera, Carrera S, Carrera S Cabriolet, Carrera 4S, Targa 4S and Turbo models. All cars in each subcategory have been refreshed in one way or another; the main highlight being turbocharged engines forming the backbone of the entire range now.

Simply put, the base model Carrera now features a 3.0l twin turbocharged flat-6 that delivers 370 hp and 450 Nm of torque. This means that throughout the range every 991.2 will be turbocharged with the exception of a few specialties like the GT3 and GT3 RS.

The Carrera S now makes 420 hp and breaks the 300 km/h mark topping out at 308 km/h going from nothing to 100 km/h in just 3.9s making it the first Carrera to do the century sprint in less than four seconds.

Other changes include the obligatory minor aesthetics; if you can’t already tell 911s apart you still won’t be able to. Things that ought to be pointed out to you by me are the revised rear deck lid cover which aids in cooling the higher temperatures from the turbo engines, reshaped front air intakes as well as some new 3D sculpted tail lamps that differentiate the models with a single strip of LED running across the rear of all-wheel drive models connecting the tail lights.

Bi-Xenon headlamps and a new Porsche Communication Management with touch screen and Apple Car Play come as standard on Carrera and Targa models. The new multifunction steering wheel that made first appearance in the Macan is also brought to the 911 which will be equipped with the Sport Response Button when optioned with Sport Chrono Package. Cars will also now come with Porsche Active Stability Management (PASM) as standard together with new wheels and a lowered ride height by 10 mm for better handling.

Rear wheel steering has also been introduced to the Carrera range, together with front lifters so you can attack those carpark ramps with precision and ease.

Not forgetting the, um, Turbo models, the Turbo and Turbo S see a similar 20 hp increase in output with a slightly revised version of the same engine they had before thanks to some new turbos.

Retail prices at press time include a five year maintenance-free and warranty programme that gives you complete peace of mind and no COE; and are as follows:

911 Carrera S - $508,888
