The car was pitted against four natural rivals: the Ferrari Enzo, Koenigsegg CCX, Pagani Zonda F Clubsport and Porsche Carrera GT.
The MC12 lapped the Nurburgring at a blistering 7:24.29, making the Carrera GT look slow. The Porsche could only manage 7:28.71.
Considering that the track was wet, and that the Maser wasn't the most powerful car of the bunch, this feat is truly impressive!
