What you see here is a race prepared version of the Audi R8 which is destined for the Nurburgring 24 hours race later this month in the SP7 class, a project by Michael Düchting, Bilstein and Sport Auto called 24h-Project 2008.
The 4.2-liter displacement from the production version has been reduced to 4.0-liters, but power output has been increased to 530 horsepower and 353 lb-ft of torque.
Also check out the additional vent, cut into the hood for additional engine cooling! Further features include custom built exhaust system, crankshaft and pistons.
The exterior gets a full race body kit with a front spoiler, a huge rear spoiler and rear wing to improve the aerodynamic effectiveness of the sports car. The interior has been completely stripped and it gets a regulation roll cage, resulting in an overall dry weight of 1250kg – that's 210kg lighter than the road going version.
